- Population (2005): 64,053
- Population under the age of 18: 16,102
- Government: Mayor (Pat Thomas), plus one city manager and a six-member city commission.
- Several famous celebrities once called Dothan home: Johnny Mack Clark (starred in Billy the Kid and opposite Joan Crawford and Abbott & Costello in the 1930s); William Gray Espy (Snapper on "The Young and the Restless"), Donna D’Erico ("Baywatch") and skateboarder Jamie Thomas.
- The U.S. Army Aviation Museum, which houses one of the most extensive helicopter collections in the world, is in Dothan.
PCUSA Initiatives
- Dothan Department of Leisure Services, along with the Recreation Board, creates an annual program guide and calendar of enjoyable and constructive lifestyle sports and outdoor activities. The city believes good health and thriving park and recreation facilities go hand in hand.
- The city is attempting to divert a portion of property taxes to increase the city’s leisure budget by $50,000.
