KaBOOM! All-Star Playmakers[Playmaker Home]

The KaBOOM! All-Star Playmakers consist of national leaders and celebrities who take action for play on behalf of KaBOOM!, while promoting the importance of play.

If you know of someone who would be a great KaBOOM! All-Star Playmaker, share it with us by e-mailing Brooke Bennett.

Antawn Jamison

NBA Washington AntawnJ_NOLASized.jpgWizards All-Star Antawn Jamison attended his first KaBOOM! build in conjunction with the 2008 NBA All-Star game and was immediately hooked! Soon after, Antawn committed to supporting the KaBOOM! Playmaker Network by building a playground in his hometown of Shreveport, La., in the fall of 2008 as well as to help KaBOOM! with promotional efforts for its WE Play! training in Charlotte on May 13 – even though he was right in the middle of the playoffs! No stranger to lending a helping hand, Jamison was awarded the NBA's Community Assist Award in 2003 for his incredible community service efforts in North Carolina. As a former winner of the Magic Johnson Award, presented annually by the Professional Basketball Writers Association to an NBA player who combines excellence on the court with outstanding cooperation with the media, and a two-time honoree by The Sporting News as one of the "Good Guys" in sports, Jamison is also a fixture at Washington Wizards community events.
