Recognize High Profile Advocates for Play

You know who they are — they could be an outstanding teacher at your child’s school, the principal of a friend’s child’s elementary school, a newly elected official, or a local business owner who just erected a public playground. There is no limit to the number and variety of folks you can recognize and whose work you can affirm through your play committee’s support.
  • Have children in your neighborhood draw and design a Recognition Award or a thank you card thanking them for their advocacy efforts on behalf of play. You can buy inexpensive white tiles with markers or paint and have each child at the “thank-you party” draw what play means to them. Send these tiles to your high-profile advocates for play!

  • Create your own Playful Certificate of Achievement award to mail with a sincere thank-you note attached to it.

  • Invite him or her to be a speaker at your next Play Committee event.

"If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society."
– Jean Piaget, Swiss philosopher, 1896–1980
