Building with sand is great for children's healthy development. The recommended plans are for a fabulous sandbox with a hinged lid and covered toy storage box. When closed, the lid can serve as a stage – and adults seem to really enjoy the seating around the perimeter. Lids are also important for hygiene – keeps animals and waste out of the sandbox.
