More than 50 Taunton High School students such as Heather Standring, have volunteered to take a day out of their April vacation to build a new playground for Taunton's Old Colony YMCA.
"I went to daycare and a playground is always a big part for the kids," the 17-year-old said. "I thought it'd be fun to do."
Standring, two other schoolmates and Christine Larkin visited the site of the new playground earlier this week. The new playground, which will be located to the left of the Y's main entrance, is set to begin construction next Thursday.
