Sept. 28, 2006 -- Sweetwater officials entered into an agreement with The Home Depot and KaBOOM!, a nonprofit organization that builds community playgrounds, to enhance one of their parks with a $35,000 play set.
The commission executed a contract with the entities Monday. Construction, at Carlow
Park, 10600 SW Fourth St., is scheduled to begin Nov. 16.
"We're very happy that we were awarded this grant," Park Director Frank Lago said.
"This is something that is much needed in our community, and the children in our city
will benefit immensely from this playground." |
