For some children with disabilities, moving freely throughout the playground is not something they've been able to experience yet. But that may well change with the UD1 - a robot that allows children with conditions such as cerebral palsy and Down syndrome to independently navigate their environment. The device provides not only physical, but also social support, as other children are made curious by the new invention sprung from the minds of a physical therapist and a mechanical engineer.
