KaBoom! Comes To Pascagoula

Play is exploding all over the Gulf Coast thanks to KaBOOM! and the next big blast will be felt at Cherokee Elementary School. After unrelenting efforts by the faculty, staff and administration of the kindergarten through fifth grade school along with the tireless efforts of its Parent Teacher Organization, the dream of having a new playground is becoming a reality.
KaBOOM! representatives along with other community partners involved with the building of this playground site visited Cherokee in February to get a layout of the playground area and to talk with the students. The children were able to draw pictures of what they hoped to have in the new playground and then the teachers and parents used that information to design the playground. Justin Fitzgerald is the project manager for KaBOOM! and the funding partners are Fannie Mae and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
