| Because our kids come from such unhealthy environments, having time to play like a normal child is critical. We are located east of Asheville, NC and west of Morganton, NC. We have a beautiful campus in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Because gas is so expensive, our foster parents and South Mountain employees are limited in making trips in to town to play at the park. Our playground is small, and there is no shade. With just a little effort, we could make it so much more!!. A new playground would add so much to our "foster home community". A place for the foster parents to come and talk and watch their kids play would enhance our commitment to a "family environment". Any plans to refurbish our existing playground have been moved to a back burner, due to the overwhelming costs of operating!! Our kids deserve normalcy in their lives!! They are precious, and to see them using their awesome imaginations, laughing, running, PLAYING and being normal kids is absolutely incredible!! We are more than willing to work in whatever capacity to help make this happen. |
