| More About Me |
| Until recently, I was the CEO of the Center for Creative Play, now I help communities make their playspaces more fun & more accessible.
Here is my story...In 1995, I joined a group of other mothers to create the Center for Creative Play (CFCP). CFCP at that point was a 5,000 square foot indoor playspace located in downtown Pittsburgh. Our goal was to provide a wonderful playspace for children of ALL abilities. Each of the mothers involved were raising a child with a disability, including myself;
Within a couple of years, we were seeing 16,000 visitors a year and had outgrown our space. We purchased a building right outside of the city and built a new playspace that is 15,000 square feet. Until recently, the organization saw 45,000 visitors a year. In addition to the running the playspace, they ran a respite care programs, a sensory adventure camp (great for outdoors as well), badge programs for girl scouts, birthday parties and much more.
As CFCP was a one-of-kind playspace, I receive many, many calls from people wanting to create a CFCP environment or make their playgrounds more accessible. I am now available to provide that help.
