More About Me
Currently I work at KaBOOM! as the Director of Corporate Development. In my job I get to work with all of the amazing corporations and organizations that sponsor our KaBOOM! playground builds, support our trainings and provide money for grants and scholarships. I guess I should have known I would end up building great and safe places to play --- my first job was for the City of Rockville, MD Department of Parks & Recreation - as a Playground Director (1993-1996). Rockville has a great program where they staff city parks during the summer to create arts and sports programs for children who come out to play! I grew up playing on playgrounds all over the world as a Navy brat. Every military child knows that the base playground is the best place to hang out afterschool and on the weekends - we spent hours trying to see who could swing the highest and spin on the merry-go-round the longest. I have spent most of my career working in sales, membership and marketing - for publishing companies and non-profits. I have a BA from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and I also spent time getting my MBA at the University of Chicago. I love to be outdoors and on or in the water. My greatest joy at work is the opportunity to see the sparkle in the kids' eyes as they see the playground they designed come to life and share in the pride of the parents and community members who can say they helped build it.
