More About Me
I am a member of a committee made up of moms who have decided that our town needed a playground since all of us were going outside of our municipality to play. We fellt we needed a central location in our own town where all of us could meet and bring our children together. We have come a long way in the past year. We have just completed phase one of our playground and we had a community build day on June 2nd '07. Our first phase consisted of a structure for toddlers along with swings. The second phase is planned for October 07 and will include a larger structure for older kids. We have raised over $40 000 so far and our challenge now is to raise another $40 000 to complete phase 2. I would love to hear about other groups' fund-raising ideas and to hear about what they feel was successfull and what wasn't. We held a great event called "Dancing with Stratham Stars" and everyone loved it and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to create an event that rallies their town and promotes community spririt. The development of the playground has been a fun project for all of us and we are looking for new ideas and would love to share information with other groups!
