More About Me
My name is Christie Kissinger and I was the Project Coordinator for a KaBOOM! sponsored playground project at Tara Redwood School in Soquel, California, three years ago. I'm now heading up another community build project at Seabright Montessori School located at Star of the Sea Park in Santa Cruz. I'm thrilled to say we were awarded a Challenge Grant from KaBOOM! and Home Depot. We're very excited to get going on our Playground Project and realize our dream of a new playground for the Seabright Community on April 29th, 2006. Our Community playspace is located at a church that is shared by many organizations. In addition to the parish community, two elementary schools use the open space for P.E. as does the resident high school. We also have a Soccer league that shares the space bringing in approximately 100 kids every weekend for at least six months out of the year. The open space is available for all to use as Parks and Recreaion leases and maintains the open space. The addition of a new playground (the old one was removed three years ago) will be greatly appreciated and it will bring the community closer together as we set out to build it.
