| Hi Everybody,
For the past 19 years I’ve been lucky enough to be an elementary physical education teacher. I can not imagine working behind a desk all day. Growing up in south Louisiana with three older brothers, I had no choice but to PLAY! Now in my mid 40’s, I realize the value of the free play I had as a child . I try hard to work free play time in with my own two children.
See, that is the problem; we must work hard to set “Free Play” time into our lives, and especially the lives of our youth.
Update…..I just completed a community build for Chahta-Ima elementary school in Lacombe, Louisiana. Thanks to the recourses that KaBoom! empowered us with we were successful in the planning, funding, and building of a great new play space for the children in the community. Special thanks to The Home Depot/KaBoom! Community Build grant program that helped us in our efforts.
Also, thanks goes out to our major funding partners : Rotary of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Rotary of Mandeville, Louisiana. With out them our “Dream Playground” would not have become a reality!
