Green Built or LEED Certified Funding
Posted: 06 Feb 07 10:06 PM

I would love to hear about peoples experiences and knowledge of fingind funding opportunities for Green Built projects.   We are currently in the process of building an new early childhood center that is LEED certified- the first "business" in our community of its kind.  Surely, someone out there wants to help children play in toxic free - recycled space!  I'd love any leads!

Wow!  What a great project.  You may want to take a look at other businesses in the community that share your green values - Simple Foods Market might be a good one.  Perhaps they would let your volunteers bag groceries at the store while telling the customers about the new playground and collecting spare change and larger donations.  Or, maybe you can negotiate an even better deal - offer to mobilize all the parents, staff, teachers, grandparents, and friends and neighbors to shop there on what would normally be a slow day - with the incentive of 5% of all sales helping to build your green playground!

Good luck and please come back to share your your success stories here on the website!
