New featured playground on KaBOOM! Accessibility site
Posted: 02 Mar 07 1:41 PM

Each month, a different universally accessible playspace is featured at www.kaboom.org/accessibility.  This time, it's a unique playground in Copenhagen, Denmark, based off of the fairytale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon."  Natural, creative, and, of course, enjoyed by children and adults of all abilities, it's a hit!  Check it out!

This month's Featured Accessible Playspace is up and ready to "ooh" and "ahh" over!  :)
Actually, it's not just one playspace, it's an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities by helping communities build universally accessilbe playgrounds.  So head over to www.kaboom.org/accessibility and click on "Shane's Inspiration"... one of Southern California's coolest organizations.

Not only is www.kaboom.org/accessibility a great source of information on various types of play and how to incorporate them into your playspace, the site also features Univerally Accessible Playgrounds from around the world.  Click on the latest feature, Colorado's Westminster Sensory Park, and check out previously-featured playgrounds as well.  Get some ideas, or just get inspired!  Then stop back into the forum to share your thoughts.

Have you ever been to the beach and thought, "there's no way anyone with a wheelchair or walker could get down here"?  Versluis Park in Grand Rapids, MI has changed that for its visitors, creating accessible swimming, fishing, picnicing, and playground opportunities.  It's summer fun for everyone! Read more about the awesome renovations, see pictures of the results, and link to more information by going to www.kaboom.org/accessibility and clicking on the Featured Accessible Playspace.
