How much recess time do your kids get?
posted by bcwubi  on Jun 30 2008
Hi everyone, I'm currently a project manager for KaBOOM! but I used to teach elementary school.  I find myself often referencing the trend of decreased recess time in our public schools today.  So, I got curious and wanted to ask what you all see in your....

Stepping Stones - Better version
Posted: 06 Aug 07 6:31 PM

Hi all! Our build is in 4 days and I had a great conversation today with Ivan (he's the best!) about Stepping Stones. The side project site talks about making them from scratch with concrete and Ivan suggested purchasing the pre-formed concrete stepping stones at Home Depot and using pre-mixed mortar on top of them with gems and such to decorate. At Home Depot you can find stepping stones in the garden section for about a buck a stepping stone BUT you can find the SAME STONE in the lumber department for $.67!!!

Just another way to save money! Thanks for the help, Ivan!

This is a great suggestion, and one we will use for our build. We are building a memorial playground, and thought we might use the stepping stone idea as the memorial for each person who has passed away. We thought this would make a great project for kids while their parents are working outside. Thanks for the tip!

What a touching idea BeckyKoltz.

I was wondering, whats the story behind the memorial playground?
