Can anyone tell me how the depth of compressed wood mulch is measured?  I have checked in the ASTM and I know how thick it should be.  Do we just dig a bunch of holes and use a ruler?  Tim ....

Cherokee Park in Belleview, FL needs wheelbarrows
Posted: 11 Feb 08 9:44 AM
I found this plea for wheelbarrows this morning from Ocala.com:
BELLEVIEW - Local organizers building the $100,000 playground at Cherokee Park in Belleview are in need of wheelbarrows and other equipment. Work to prepare the playground site begins on Feb. 11 in advance of build day on Feb. 13. The wheelbarrows and other equipment will be returned to the donors.

The playground is being built by KaBoom, a national organization that builds interactive playgrounds around the country, in partnership with Home Depot and the city of Belleview.

Carla Wheeler, Belleview Parks and Recreation staff assistant, said work on Monday will include layout of the playground site, inventory of equipment, installing concrete footers, and other preliminary set-up.

"There will be extra projects at the playground like the planter benches, a playhouse and picnic tables," she said.

Donations of wheelbarrows and other items should be directed to Wheeler by calling 233-2118 or 245-7021 or e-mail to cwheeler@belleviewfl.org.

If you live in the Belleview, FL area, give Carla a call and see if she is still lookingfor wheelbarrows.
