Can anyone tell me how the depth of compressed wood mulch is measured?  I have checked in the ASTM and I know how thick it should be.  Do we just dig a bunch of holes and use a ruler?  Tim ....

Hey Everyone! We just had our BUILD DAY yesterday and it was AMAZING! I personally want to thank all of our fantastic volunteers, KaBOOM!, Build-A-Bear Workshop and everyone else who made our playground possible. We had such a wonderful time and we worked hard all day long. Our crews and Build Captains were phenomenal. Our children at Lincoln are so excited that they had the opportunity to watch their playground be created right in front of their eyes. They wanted to thank Build-A-Bear Workshop for their generosity and letting them make their very own bear! To learn more about our project and its fabulous success, please visit our website in a few days. http://projects.kaboom.org/lincolnlionsplayground. We hope you stop by soon. =o) Thank you for making our dream of building a playground possible. We are forever grateful and we'll be thinkig about everyone who made it possible every time we play on it!

Love,

Jen, LETA Playground Committee, Staff and Students of LETA

CONGRATULATIONS JEN and LETA Playground Committee,

You are a dedicated group of folks. When I viewed your binder full of information at the U-Play Conference in New Orleans I knew you would be very successful at fundraising and completing your project. Thanks for the great suggestions and inspiration you provided to me at the conference.

WoW! Monique, no way! How are you? We got a partnership through KaBOOM! and Build-A-Bear Workshop! We were on of ten pawsome playspaces that Build-A-Bear was creating for their ten year anniversary! Check out our website. I just put all the pictures up! Thank you so much for the support! We are so happy we were able to help you out. You will have to keep us posted about your playground project. We look forward to hearing from you again. It was nice talking with you!

Our playspace build day is set for Aug. 10. It seems like we have completed so much in a short time span.  The Richards Elementary School in Whitefish Bay, WI plans to have a ribbon cutting celebration about Aug. 23rd in order to have the playspace available for the first day of school.   Our web page can be viewed at http://www.projects.kaboom.org/richardsschool  We had a great deal of success with our large fundraising project which was called Parent's Night Out that included a silent auction.  Another event that brought in a great deal of money was the sale of bricks which will be included as a boarder to our playspace.  We have had an outstanding group of volunteer parents that are keeping our project moving forward.  Our playspace will have numerous climbing stations and slides with other play areas as well as picnic tables and benches.  There will be a mural which will be painted by the students.  We can hardly wait for more fun and adventure.
