I am pretty new to kaboom and I recently could not log in. I have resolved the situation, but wanted to leave a note for anyone else who may be having the same problem.
It was quite simple actually. All I had to do was to delete the cookies associates to this site. Somehow they had become corrupt, and keep becoming corrupt every few days. I have not been locked out again like the first time, but I cannot seem to get the 'remember login' option to work. I also cannot edit my profile, but since I now have access to the site I am happy.
To delete the cookies in Windows XP using Internet Explorer 7:
This should find a few files (mine found four). The one you need is cookie:yourname@www.kaboom.org or something similar. This file is intended to have an icon which looks like a spiral-bound pad of paper, but mine does not (part of the problem). I deleted this file and then I could access the site.
Every time you access the Kaboom! site your compute will create this cookie, so if it happens again the same solution should fix it.
This was a difficult problem for me to initially fix because when I tried to post my problem to this forum it would not let me post unless I logged in - which I could not do.
I hope this helps,Jeffrey K. Ries
I hope it helps.
I now realize that I never really explained what happened when I tried logging in.
If I attempt to navigate to a portion of the Kaboom site which requires login it will first go to the login screen. However, when I fill in my username and password and press enter it takes me back to the previous page and I am still not logged in. In addition, if I fill in incorrect username and/or password I am given an error stating that one or the other is incorrect.
I have also tried to login from the home page using the username and password fields in the upper right of the page. When I do this the screen will refresh and I am still not logged in.
Lastly, while in my 'Temporary Internet Files' folder I have noticed that all other cookies from other sites end in the TXT extension, while the corrupt Kaboom cookie has a TXTS - only the S appears to be backwards.
This has happened to me three times now.

This happens to me sometimes.
Try closing and restarting your browser and see if that fixes the problem.
I'm getting an increase in the number of reports of this occurring today, though, so I'll look into it further.
Yay! I think we've figured out what the problem is. We've got the links from the Recent Posts box fixed. It'll take another day to fix the Popular Posts box. Thanks for your patience.
