While helping one of the amazing 13,000+ members of kaboom.org today, I realized there was a common problem many people have while trying to post on our forums that hasn't been talked about in while.
Firefox.
For those of you who don't know, Firefox is an web browser that is a great alternative to Internet Explorer. If your work is like mine and you spend 98.9% of your day in an web browser, Firefox is an invaluable tool. It has great Add-ons, mini programs that you can install to help make your web life a much easier life to live. I love it and try my best to spread its goodness to all I come across.
The only problem is, it kind of, sort of, mostly doesn't get along with the KaBOOM! Forums very well.
If you login and attempt to post something while in Firefox, everything will be fine until you try and type in the area pictured below.
The problem is the all of those text editing options you see just above, commonly referred to as a WYSWIG (what you see is what you get). For some reason, this locks up Firefox and can produce "Script is taking too long" type error messages.
To fix this, simple check the Basic Text Box option pictured below.
Now you will see this box:
Which is 100% Firefox compatible. The website should also remember your preference, so next time you login, you won't have to go through the process all over again. You do lose the ability to easily put in some fancy formatting to your post, but it saves you the time of having to open up another web browser.
