Ok, so I had a thought today that it would be fun to start a thread where people can share their playground stories.  I think this would be something entertaining to read and hopefully people will keep adding to it and it'll just keep growing.  I'm with KaBOOM! and unfortunat....

I need your help.  We are just a few weeks away from build day and we still need money.  The problem is, I hate asking for money.  Other than finding a new job that does not involve fundraising, does anyone have any advise oh how to ask for money?  I guess what i cant handle is the fact that I work hard on selling the idea and then people say no.  Why cant everyone have the same vision as KaBoomers?

The first time -- well, the first 10 times -- I had to ask someone for money, I was so nervous that my voice shook and my stomach churned like a volcano. It got easier, though. There really are a lot of nice people out there. You'll run across both, but in my experience, there are more nice people in this world than mean people.

If you just can't do it, find someone who loves to socialize and who doesn't mind fundraising. Focus your efforts on recruiting that person and then let him or her do this for you.

Another way to do this is to sell something or set up an event. It feels a lot less like asking for money if people walk away with some thing (or having had a fun afternoon or evening). There are a bunch of ideas here:

Does anyone else have words of encouragement or ideas for helping someone get started?
