Who are the good bulb fundraising companies?

Any feedback from anyone on bulb companies that are good to use for fundraising? I'm looking at Dutch Gardens (Flower Power Fundraising) for a sale next month. I want to be sure and offer good products that people will want to buy again and again. I bought some bulbs from my son's school fundraiser last year (can't remember the company) and they were horrible. Most of the plants didn't come up.

I also want to offer a good variety of bulbs.

Thanks, David

I do landscaping for a City and we buy from Brent and Becky's Bulbs- very good quality and service.

They're in Virginia, not the Netherlands.

Followup - we ended up using John Scheeper's for our bulb sale last fall. We also had a plant sale at the same time.

With not too much effort, we made $500 in profit from the bulb sale and $1500 from the plant sale.

What I like about Scheepers (http://www.johnscheepers.com/fundraisers.html) is that they are a bulb company that happens to offer fundraising support. So their quality and reputation is very important to them. Many of the suppliers I found are fundraising companies only and I'm suspicious of the quality of their bulbs.

The other thing that is good about scheepers is that they encourage you to create your own brochure (which creates a bit more work). This allows you to customize the brochure to your climate.

I'd be happy to send you the MS Publisher brochure we created for Denison Pocket Parks Inc. if you will email me at pocketparks@sbcglobal.net. You can then use that as a starting point, which will reduce the effort on your part.

One thing that was very successful for us was to create a specific brochure for our church. The buyer had the option of donating the bulbs to the church for its gardens and our organization made a profit on the sale. We actually raised most of our money this way and we'll expand that next fall to include schools, other churches, and nonprofits. This allows donors to help two worthy causes with one donation. Donors purchased over 400 tulip and daffodil bulbs for our church's garden.

Downside of Scheepers is that they don't offer any plants or bulbs for sale in the Spring. And the sooner in the fall you place your pre-order with them the better - they run out of inventory if you wait too long.

Scheepers is owned by Van Engelen. If you have larger quantities of bulbs, you may use Van Engelen. Their minimums are higher but the prices are better. We'll actually go through them next Fall.
