A friend of mine from Georgia just sent me this and I just had to share it. It's called an "Non-Ball". Basically this group (which is actually fundraising for a playground) was thinking about setting up a fancy dress ball (dinner, dancing). Someone (probably someone's husband) had a brilliant idea: Why not take the money we'd spend on the clothes and the babysitter and just give it to the playground project?

It's a "Non Ball".

They sent out fancy invitation as if they were really doing the fancy dinner explaining the concept. People are invited to vote for anyone they want to be a Non Ball King, a Queen and a Jester for $20/vote. For that $20, they get a raffle ticket (in addition to their vote). The King, Queen and Jester get crowned right before the playground gets built.

They are getting a great response to this. I can't wait to hear how it all turns out.
