Art for hours

I just ran across an interesting web site (http://www.timeraiser.ca) and it got me thinking. This could be a fun, different way to ask for support. I'm kind of making this up as I go along, so please feel free to jump in and poke holes in it. Art is donated to your project -- maybe it's kid's art. People then purchase (or bid on -- it could be an auction) the artwork. Instead of bidding money, however, they bid time -- hours spent in support of your project. This might be nice for smaller communities without a lot of cash on hand. "Hours" could be translated into services like time with a Bobcat, tractor, a big truck, or even in a nice industrial kitchen. It could be making phone calls or putting up flyers or picking up trash. It might actually be a fun way maintain a playground after it's been built. I guess it doesn't just have to be art. It could be a fancy meal, too.

I like that idea. i think any silent auction concept would work for this. like at my church people offered homemade cakes and housecleaning services in exchange for money...but it could be in exchange for time. nice idea.
