I am wanting to put a cardboard tree on a wall in my classroom but cannot use staples nails or anything that will puncture the wall or damage it in any way help please   ....

Ok, so I had a thought today that it would be fun to start a thread where people can share their playground stories.  I think this would be something entertaining to read and hopefully people will keep adding to it and it'll just keep growing.  I'm with KaBOOM! and unfortunat....

How to do a Craft Fair Fundraiser?

Does anyone have any experience with doing craft fair fundraisers? We have a location but how do we attract crafters to join our craft fair? What do people usually charge for tables at craft fairs? If you have any experience on this type of fundraisers I would love to hear about it?

I think that craft fairs are a wonderful idea, both in participation and fundraising abilities.  Recently many communities I have worked with have loved designing very unique stepping stones with both adults and children.  The materials you will need are a nice bag of concrete (crack resistant if available), beads or broken tile pieces, petrolium jelly and plastic water catchers for the bottom of potted plants.  This is a very simple activity and enjoyed by all that could be done at the craft fair if desired or done ahead of time and sold. 

Coat the plastic containers with petrolium, pour in desired concrete, let sit for a few minutes, design away - hand prints, words, beads and broken tiles are all welcome!  Once dry you will be able to remove the plastic and have an artistic stepping stone suited for any great lawn or garden!

A craft fair sounds like a great idea.  I think that most craft fairs charge for the table/tent area (ie: $80 for a 10x10 space).  It may also be a good idea to ask the vendor to consider donating a portion of their sales for the day to the playground project or even asking if they are willing to have a little can next to their table that people can put change in.  Another way to raise funds at a craft fair is to charge a small admission fee.  Maybe $3-10 and that can go towards your playground as well!

Another fun idea would be to incorporate a raffle into your day.  People can purchase tickets and you can raffle off prizes that have been donated by local businesses, services, or companies.

I have organized and hosted craft & vendor fairs before. The location is always the biggest thing, so you are already well on your way. The registration cost for a vendor/crafter will depend on a few things: the cost of your venue, the area in which your venue is held (city/rural), what you will provide (table/electricity/water), etc. Send me a message if you want to ask more detailed questions. Another craft-related fund-raising idea, would be to host a paper-craft event. I have hosted and organized them in different areas, prices, and have custom-designed them based on the hosts parameters. I try to meet with the host organization to create their event template, set deadlines, design their flyer & registration forms, and prepare the event supplies (already pre-sorted, pre-cut, & pre-packaged) and come to be the event instructor to the registrants. For example, I hosted a gift-making event for an organization. Registrants were charged $50 to create 6 small gifts. Of the $50, $25 went towards supplies/expenses and $25 went towards the organization. All the organization basically had to do was promote the event, collect the money, and provide a few volunteers to assist me on the day of the event. The volunteers were able to make the same projects with me at no charge prior to the event.
