Why Play Matters - The KaBOOM! National Campaign for Play
Play is important for children’s social, physical and intellectual development. This session will highlight statistical as well as empirical evidence that supports why play matters. We’ll also explain how you and your community can get involved in a campaign to end this country’s play deficit.

Start your engines! From Miles 1 to 8, KaBOOM! will take you through the KaBOOM! Community-Build Road Map, a step-by-step guide showing you how to plan a community-build project. Even if you’re not planning a playground project, you can use this guide as a model to organize any community-wide effort. |

We know that creating a great place to play means creating a safe place to play - free of hazards, violence, and inadequate equipment. This session will focus on what makes a playground safe, accessible, and fun for the children in your community. |

Trust us, we know! Fundraising can be one of the most daunting aspects of any community-wide project. In this session, we’ll alleviate those concerns by showing you how to ask businesses, governments, and community groups to make a financial investment towards play and playspaces. |
