Richland Park Effort Teaches Life Lessons
The Tri-City Herald
Published Wednesday, September 6th, 2006
We're certain the determined efforts of some central Richland residents to improve their neighborhood park ultimately will succeed.
Members of this ad hoc group, who have spent more than a year trying to bring play equipment to what's now only open space, believe they're nearing their goal.
The group has set March 10 as the "build day" for volunteers to erect the equipment and announced an ambitious target of $60,000 to bring materials for the playground, a sports court and artwork to the park.

Richland Residents Rally for Park Toys
Published Saturday, September 2nd, 2006
By Elena Olmstead, Herald staff writer
When Megan Hoover tells her three children they are going to the park for the day, they ask if they have to go to the park with no toys.
"It's sad," the central Richland resident said.
But Hoover and her neighbors are working to bring toys and playground equipment to their neighborhood park.
The group led by Karina Thorne has spent more than a year trying to bring play equipment to Paul Liddell Park, which now offers only open green space.
